Biomechanics of Birth
In this series of classes, we focus on how our bodies and our connection with them can help during birth. We know that gravity helps but that is often not enough. So we can use the mechanics of posture and alignment to create more space in the body!
Biomechanics for birth week 1
The ball for better baby position
This video can be watched with the baby positions one, and then hopefully you will have a bit of knowledge and awareness around how the baby moves through the pelvis and how both you and them create a type of puzzle that allows the safe birth of the head and shoulders. It's a fascinating subject. You can aid yourself by watching your posture during pregnancy and doing yoga and swimming to help baby get into the optimal position. The ball should be big enough to allow your knees to be lower than the hips.
Pelvic Release
Filmed in a live class, this includes a talk on how to use the BRAIN acronym. This is suitable for all stages of pregnancy, and you will need a chair, a tennis ball or a rolled up yoga mat would also do, plus cushions. It is 80 minutes long.
