Flow Yoga Library
Flow yoga is a modern yoga style, connecting the breath and the body and movement. It is quite creative and distinctive and differs a lot from traditional styles, although that is where the foundation is.
Side Stretch Yoga Flow
This is a lovely all levels flow, that really stretches out the side body. It includes salutations and balances. It is 75 minutes long. You might need a brick for the half moon posture and a cushion. Level 1-2.
Mind and Body Practice
Week 1 of this flow Yoga course, we start with a lunge based practice. You could have a cushion handy and a belt as well. This is level 1-2 and 45 minutes long.
Featured Class
Traditional Flow Style Class
Yoga is a prescriptive practice, so you do what feels right for your body. Sometimes it feels great to flow from one posture to another, and to do a stronger practice, so if this is you today, try this class, with sun salutations and loosely based on the ashtanga yoga system. 75 minutes and level 2-3.
Mandala Ladder Flow
Test your memory with this ladder sequence, which builds one pose after the other, and repeats until you have a full sequence. It builds up some heat too! 75 minutes long, level 2-3.
Express Standing Flow
This is a fast paced flow, starting with 2 variations of the Surya Namaskar, then flowing into standing postures. Level 1-2 and 50 minutes long.
Yin-to-flow
It's great to start a class with some yin, so we spend the first 15 doing just that, then we build on a flow sequence for hamstrings, hips and upper body strength. 75 minutes and Level 2-3.
Back to Front
This flow is a level 2-3 class, with focus on the back and the front of the body, and incorporating some standing postures and balance.
Hamstring Flow
This is 75 minutes and level 1-2. There is a little bit of yin at the start and then we launch into sun salutations and a flow that focuses on hamstring lengthening and strengthening. You need a belt or strap for this class.
Yin Yang Flow for the Spine
Level 2 - 3 class, with lots of lunges, down dogs and forward bends, to stretch the leg muscles, and coupled with some passive yin style holds. You might need a cushion for knee support. 75 minutes.
Heart Opening Flow
For this practice I used a belt, cushion and 2 bricks, but I demonstrate the postures without the bricks too. It is 75 minutes long and level 2-3. We work on the hamstrings and also on releasing the upper back and chest, so heart opening is a good description.
Energetic Flow
This is a pretty strong practice, it's more of a level 2-3. There are some mellow parts in it too! Lots of flow and sun salutations to make you feel energised for the day.
Morning Pick Me Up Flow
This is a 50 minute flow to pick you up, in the morning, afternoon or evening! No extra props needed, and it is level 1-2.
Express Dancing Warrior
In this 55 minute class, we start off with the dancing warrior flow sequence, using it as a warm up, then we do some standing postures and lunges, balances and grounding poses to start the day off. It is suitable for Level 1-2. The only prop that might be useful is a cushion for the knees in lunges.
Hot Flow
A combination of different flow types, increasing the body temperature to make a really hot class! Get those glute muscles moving again! 75 minutes long, and you only need a cushion for lunges, if you used one. A fold in your mat would also help.
