Yin Yoga Classes
Yin Yoga Library
I am really excited to be building on my Yin library over the next while. It is a great addition to any yoga practice, as it encourages us to slow down, challenges us to stay with the posture instead of taking the easy way out, and builds strength in the connective tissues of the body. I will give prop suggestions, but you can also use your own intuition with this, and do what feels best. Suggested props are cushions and blankets.
Yin for the upper and lower body
We start with some mild stress on the arms and shoulders, and then move on to the legs and hips. Have cushions and blankets for this class. It is 1 hour 20 minutes long.
Yin for gardeners
It is that time of year where we all rush out to the garden, but that can be really tough on the body. This yin class targets those areas hit hardest by gardening. It is 75 minutes and you will need a cushion. Suitable for all levels.
Yin Yoga Part 1
Practice yin poses such as butterfly, straddle, sphinx, seal and happy baby. You may need a cushion or block for the forward bending poses. Take care in the poses and only do what feels comfortable. this is a 40 minute long class. Yin yoga works mostly on the ligaments and connective tissue of the body, and each posture is held for around 3 minutes.
Yin Yoga Part 2
This is a short yin yoga class, suitable for all levels. Always exercise caution in the poses and listen to your body.
Yin Yoga for different organs/meridians
These next classes are more specific, working on certain organs and meridians.
Yin Flow For Liver And Gall Bladder Meridian
Welcome to another yin yoga class, this time focusing on postures to gently stimulate the side of the body and the inner thighs, and this will help to massage the liver and gall bladder meridians. You might benefit from a few cushions and then a blanket for relaxation. It is 70 minutes long.
Yin for the kidney and liver meridian
This is a level 1 yin class, focusing on the kidney meridian and the liver one as well. The postures are all seated so have a blanket and a few bricks for support, and of course listen to your body at all times. It was filmed in a live class, so you may hear me talk to the students. I hope that you enjoy it. It is 80 minutes long.
There’s something about Yin
Yin for the kidney meridian, plus the inner thighs, back and hips. You might need a few cushions and a strap/belt. It is 75 minutes long.
Yin for better circulation
In this practice, I combine seated yin postures with some gentle humming, as it boosts the circulation. It compliments breathing through the nostrils, which has the same effect. This was filmed in a live class. You will need 2 bricks and a blanket or a cushion. It is 65 minutes long.
